A “home phone” to care for herself and her family

Location: Sunfish Lake

Category: Health, Shelter

Story

Single mom from the Democratic Republic of Congo is new to the U.S. One surprise? No home phones!

She is the only one with a cell phone, but to stay in contact with her family she is needing a way to call them. A cellular watch for her eldest would help mom stay connected with her frequent medical appointments and in the event her son ever misses the afternoon bus from middle school. This watch is the simplest and cheapest option for the family allowing online safe-guards with the ability to text and call. Knowing that her family is in the right place in time or that they can be contacted in a time of need is peace of mind.
