Single Mom Needs Bed

Location: Minneapolis

Category: Shelter

Story

After years of sharing space with her adult child, this hardworking single mom is finally moving into a place she can call her own — a fresh start for her and her two younger children. She works full-time, but with a tight budget and rising costs, there’s little left for anything beyond the absolute essentials.

Right now, she’s dreaming of a bed of her own. A mattress, sheets, pillows, and a comforter may seem like small things, but for her, they represent peace, rest, and stability. Having her own room for the first time in years will restore her sense of dignity, improve her well-being, and give her the strength she needs to keep moving forward. With this support, she can focus her income on rent and groceries, ensuring her children have what they need as they begin this new chapter together in a new apartment.

While all children grow at their own pace, some children experience delays in development. Special health conditions may also affect development. Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) offers information, support and referral services to help at no cost to families. ECSE programs provide supports and services to infants, toddlers, and preschool children with a delay or disability and their families.
